Individuals receiving a terminal diagnosis or nearing the end of life often desire someone they can talk and consult with who is not a member of their extended family or current support group, who can help them sort through the emotions and choices they are encountering. End-of-life doulas are trained in and sensitive to the concerns, considerations and challenges of those near death, and can be a resource for the dying. My particular interest in is holding space for the dying, listening to their hopes and fears without judgment, helping them to plan the end-of-life experience they desire.
